NIDA members appeal to President Ilham Aliyev for pardon
The imprisoned members of NIDA Civic Movement - Rashadat Akhundov, Rashad Hasanov, Uzeyr Mammadli, Zaur Gurbanli, Mammad Azizov, and Ilkin Rustamzadeh - appealed to President Ilham Aliyev for pardon.

At the request of these persons, the appeal has been presented to media outlets without distortion, AzVision.az reports quoting the website of the Ministry of Justice.

The appeal says:

“Dear Mr President,

We, the imprisoned NIDA members, think that we can use our youthful energy to the benefit of our country in the current period of Azerbaijan. Serving our punishment until the end, it would be wasting our youthful activity. We hope You agree that spending our youth in freedom would benefit the Azerbaijani people and the country, and help us regain our freedom and return to our family. Throughout our time in prison, we’ve had enough opportunities to observe the ongoing processes within the country and abroad. Due to these observations, we have learned approaching the future in the optimal way and made a lot of assessments.

Dear Mr President,

We, the young people, want to spend our knowledge and skills for the prosperity and development of independent Azerbaijan. We believe You would take our youthfulness into consideration and agree on our release, using your exceptional powers.
