Georgia opens new checkpoint on border with Azerbaijan
Georgian Interior Minister Alexander Chikaidze and the head of the border police Zurab Gamzerdashvili attended the opening of a new border sector on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border.

Chikaidze and Gamzerdashvili opened a new building of the Land Border Protection Department of Vahtangisi border police, the Interior Ministry told Trend Oct. 2

The new building corresponds to the European standards and has modern equipment.

Georgia is now actively modernizing the border sectors on the border with Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Four more new sectors will appear on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border by late 2014.
