Conflicts pose threat to regional security, Georgian PM
Frozen conflicts existing in the region pose a threat to the regional security, not the NATO infrastructure in Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister’s special representative for Georgian-Russian relations Zurab Abashidze said Oct. 9.

"These conflicts pose a threat to regional stability,” he said. “It is necessary to start negotiations on the settlement of the frozen conflicts."

Abashidze`s statement came as a response to the Russian foreign ministry’s statement that the deployment of NATO infrastructure in Georgia threatens stability in the region.

Abashidze said that the dialogue will be difficult, but it is necessary to begin moving it forward, and resolve the issues step by step.
