Azerbaijan is in talks with the Turkish company TURMAKS on purchasing a new type mobile military field hospitals, the company’s deputy general director, Ilker Huner told.

If the deal is signed, this wouldn`t be the first time Azerbaijan dealt with TURMAKS.

“Last year, as part of the contract, signed with the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, we sold two mobile military field hospitals to Azerbaijan,” Huner said.

He said the mobile hospitals, which were produced two months before the set deadline (in six months), have two operating rooms, two intensive care rooms, a diagnosis room, a dental office, morgue, six tents for patients, a power generator, water purification system, medical equipment, etc.

“Each hospital is designed for 60 patients. One mobile hospital covers an area of 2,500 square meters," Huner said.

Last year, Azerbaijan purchased two hospitals for $13 million.

Huner said that after selling the hospitals to Azerbaijan, TURMAKS held training courses on how to utilize the hospitals properly.

The company’s deputy director general also noted that the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry intends to make order for new hospitals, and the talks on this issue have already begun.

He said these hospitals can work out of the box, and their functionality depends on the order.

Huner also said that TURMAKS is one of the four or five companies in the world specializing in the production of mobile field hospitals, and it is the only such company in Turkey.

The press service of the Defense Ministry confirmed Azerbaijan’s intention to buy the field hospitals. Currently, the negotiations are underway on the issue.
