Iran opening 24-hour Azerbaijani-language TV channel
“A new 24-hour Azerbaijani-language television channel will soon be launched in Iran,” said Head of the Iranian State Radio and Television Ezzatollah Zarghami at today’s press conference in Baku.

Zarghami said the new channel will mainly cover cooperation and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Iran.

“The Azerbaijani-language channel will broadcast local TV series, cartoons, documentary films and Azerbaijani-made films, contributing to the development of the Azerbaijani language in Iran and bilateral cultural ties,” he said.

He said, Iran intends to use the opportunity of satellite “Azerspace-1”.

“During the visit, we held trade talks in this regard. Iran plans to broadcast 12 television and radio networks via a transponder of satellite “Azerspace-1”, he said.

Zarghami also added that an agreement was reached on the establishment of a joint broadcasting commission.
