The conception of the exhibition is based upon the book “Shah Ismayil the Safavid: The portrait of king and warrior” (published 2014) by academician Ramiz Mehdiyev. The concept was developed based on Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russia, and European authors’ scientific works on Shah Ismayil I.
The organizational work of the exhibition is taking place under the auspicious of the museum’s director Naila Valikhanli,
The curator is Sabuhi Ahmadov.
Thanks to the museum`s research collection, unique exhibits dating back to the first quarter of the Safavid destiny were collected. Exhibits of the 16th and 17th centuries were cleaned up and damaged exhibits were restored at the restoration laboratory of the museum. About 130 exhibits will be displayed at the event. Most of them will be displayed for the first time.
Seven moulages and 100 photographs of exhibits related to the period of Shah Ismail that are being preserved at world museums will be also exhibited.
The exhibits will not be displayed only in showcases, but also on full-size horseman mannequin titled “16th-century Azerbaijani knight” and on four full-size infantry mannequin titled “16th-century Azerbaijani fighter”.
