The German Bundestag’s decision to recognize the so-called Armenian genocide will negatively affect relations between Turkey and Germany, said Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erdogan, who is on a visit to Kenya, said that he contacted Prime Minister Binali Yildirim to determine the first steps to be taken after the German parliament’s decision, the Turkish NTV channel reported.

“As a first step, Turkey recalled its ambassador to Germany. After my return to Turkey, we will thoroughly discuss the issue and determine the steps to be taken, and then we will take a final decision,” Turkey’s president stressed.
