Suicide bomber in Istanbul pretended to be Russian
The suicide bomber, who commited an act of terrorism at the entrance to the police station of Istanbul, pretended to be Russian in a taxi, in which she drove to the site, Turkish TV channel Haber7 said Jan.7 with reference to the law enforcement agencies of the country.
The law enforcement agencies said that the perpertrator told the taxi driver that she was Russian. In addition, she told him that she was pregnant. The terrorist used Russian words the in conversation.

On Jan.6, a female suicide bomber blew herself up in Istanbul at the entrance to the police station, which is located in the historic district of Sultanahmet with an explosive device.. The terrorist died on the spot.

The female bomber, has since been identified as Elif Sultan Kalsen, born in Turkey’s Tunceli province, and was residing in the country’s Kocaeli province. She was a student of the International Relations Department at the University of Kocaeli.

Elif Sultan Kalsen was included on the list of nine “live bombs” published by the main law enforcement agency of Turkey in 2012.

Right after the publication of the list, Kalsen denied she was a “live bomb” and that time the oppositional Republican People`s Party of Turkey supported her.
