Rocket fired from Syria hits mosque in Turkish border province Kilis

A rocket fired from the Syrian district of Afrin hit the Turkish border province of Kilis on Jan. 24, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

The rocket, believed to have been fired by the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), struck a mosque in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood in central Kilis.

Kilis Governor Mehmet Tekinarslan said eight people were injured, adding that two of them were in critical condition.

Health and security officials were immediately dispatched to the scene of the blast.
