President Aliyev: Azerbaijan to continue policy of Armenia’s isolation - UPDATED

Over the past 20 years, war veterans and families of martyrs were granted over 5,500 private houses and apartments, as well as more than 6,000 cars in Azerbaijan, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state made the remarks at a ceremony held in Lokbatan settlement of Baku’s Garadagh district on Wednesday to give out apartments and cars to veterans of the Karabakh and Great wars, the Chernobyl disabled and families of martyrs, AzVision.az reports.

The president described all this as an indicator of the state’s care for these people.

“This state policy continues today. Today 35 apartments have been presented to you. The state purchased these apartments and gave them to you. You were also given 136 cars. By the end of the year, it is planned to present 170 private houses and apartments. About 4,000 people are still in queue. I will make a decision on purchasing at least 300 apartments for them also, so by the end of the year about 500 people will be provided with housing,” President Aliyev added.

If Armenia wants peace, the Armenian soldiers must leave Azerbaijan’s lands, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

"As for the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, there is only one way to solve it - the territorial integrity of our country must be restored," the president said. “Nagorno-Karabakh is our ancestral historical land, as evidenced by history, international law and all countries recognize and support the territorial integrity of our country.”

“Great support to Azerbaijan in connection with the territorial integrity, sovereignty, inviolability of the country’s borders was outlined in the document titled "Partnership Priorities", initialed between the European Union and Azerbaijan last month,” the president added. “This is Azerbaijan’s another diplomatic victory.”

Azerbaijan will continue to pursue the policy of isolation and, by using all means, will further shake Armenia, President Ilham Aliyev said.

President Aliyev made the remarks in Baku Aug. 1 at a ceremony to give out apartments and cars to the people disabled in the Karabakh war, Great Patriotic War, the Chernobyl disabled, and families of martyrs.

"If the Armenian leadership continues to drag out negotiations, we will continue to pursue our policy of isolation and, by using all means, will further shake Armenia," the president said.

President Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan also played a significant role in the collapse of the criminal junta regime in Armenia.
