The Moroccan Embassy in Tripoli has been damaged by a bomb explosion that took place shortly after unknown gunmen assaulted the South Korean mission in the Libyan capital, killing two local security guards and wounding a third person, sources said.

"A bomb inside a bag went off near the gate of the Moroccan Embassy in the Bin Ashour area in central Tripoli," a local security official said on Monday. He added that no one was hurt in the bombing.

The sound of the explosion has been described as "very strong" by a witness, who said that the blast shook the building "for a few seconds."
