He made the remarks at a meeting of the Azerbaijan-Afghanistan Joint Working Group in Baku on Tuesday, APA-Economics reports.
Mammadov noted that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan amounted to $71.5, up 37 percent compared to 2017. In January-May 2019, the mutual trade turnover grew by 15 percent compared to the same period of last year, he added.
The deputy minister said that currently, 11 Afghan companies are operating in Azerbaijan in the field of industry, transport and service.
He stressed that the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Baku International Sea Trade Port opened up favorable opportunities for the transportation of cargo from Afghanistan to Europe and back.
