  SOCAR Trading supplies 1.5M tons of Kazakh oil to global market since early 2019 -minister

SOCAR Trading (the trading house of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR) has supplied 1.5 million tons of Kazakh oil to global market from January to September 2019, Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said, AzVision.az reports.

Shahbazov was speaking at the 16th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation at Baku Business Center on October 9.

“In 2018, over 1.6 million tons of Kazakh oil was transported to the global market through SOCAR Trading, and from January to September of 2019, already more than 1.5 million tons of Kazakh oil were transported,” Shahbazov said.

In addition, Kazakhstan’s KazTransGas JSC is interested in the transit of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Kazakhstan through Azerbaijan, the minister said.

The minister added that the company is ready to supply 10,000-15,000 tons of LNG per month.

The work is underway to optimize tariffs, Shahbazov said
