The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the potential threat of the Metsamor NPP for the whole region, AzVision.az reports.
"Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia stated at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Regional Affairs and Eurasian Integration of the National Assembly that the Metsamor NPP produces large amounts of radioactive waste, as well as radioactive fuel that is not classified as "industrial waste". We are seriously concerned about the recent discussions in the Armenian Parliament on the use of radioactive waste from the NPP for military purposes.", the statement reads.
