"Starting from the 1st half of 2026, cargo terminals will be commissioned in the Alat Free Economic Zone,” said Alat FEZ Chairman of Board Valeh Alasgarov as he addressed the 8th meeting of the Joint Commission on trade-economic relations and scientific-technical cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Romania held in Baku.
The Alat FEZ Chairman of Board invited Romanian investors to benefit from the Alat Free Economic Zone, which would become the most favourable location for them after Romania.
“At the initial stage, these terminals will transport 500,000 tons of cargo per year, and the volume will be increased to about 1.5 million tons in the future," he added.
