  Azerbaijan, Romania mull transfer of "green energy”

As part of the visit to Romania, Head of the Azerbaijan-Romania Inter-parliamentary Working Group Azay Guliyev met with Dan Barna, Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, AzVision.az reports. 

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania Gudsi Osmanov also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the two hailed the high level of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of reciprocal visits in strengthening these ties. In this regard, the sides touched upon President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s working visit to Romania in December 2022 regarding the signing ceremony of the "Agreement on a strategic partnership in the field of green energy development and transmission between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary".

The meeting also highlighted the important role of the energy, transport and communications in bilateral relations, as well as the importance of the existing cooperation between the two countries in the transfer of "green energy" to Europe.

Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament Dan Barna congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on 28 May – the Independence Day.

As part of the trip, Azay Guliyev visited National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s bust in Bucharest and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania. He also met with the staff of the embassy, and exchanged views on the current cooperation between the two countries.
