  Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General meets UN deputy SecGen

During COP29, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation led by Ghada Waly, the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and Head of the UN Office in Vienna, AzVision.az reports citing the Prosecutor General's Office.

Aliyev highlighted that COP29 has been organized at the highest level under the direct leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The meeting focused on the upcoming high-level session, “Mobilizing Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Climate Change,” which is being organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and co-chaired by the UAE Ministry of Interior, set for November 15. The importance of strengthening bilateral relations was emphasized.

Waly expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality, noting the high-level organization of COP29 under Azerbaijan’s leadership, and expressed confidence in expanding cooperation both bilaterally and within international frameworks.
