“The Executive Committee meeting has considered and approved the quadrennial report,” Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice-President of Azerbaijan’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), told journalists Tuesday, following the first NOC Executive Committee meeting with a new composition in attendance.
He noted that the meeting also determined the NOC’s plans for the upcoming 4 years.
“Obviously, the Olympic Games, as well as developing the Olympic movement in Azerbaijan is our main goal. Therefore, our main task is to better prepare for the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. I believe that the National Olympic Committee will continue its successful activity, with Azerbaijan witnessing great sports achievements under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev,” the NOC Vice-President noted.
During the 9th General Assembly of the NOC, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was re-elected as President of the country's National Olympic Committee, with Azer Aliyev elected as NOC Secretary General, Chingiz Huseynzade as Vice-President and Head of the Executive Office, while Zemfira Meftahatdinova and Farid Mansurov were elected as NOC Vice-Presidents. Additionally, former judoka, Olympic Champion Elnur Mammadli, and former volleyball player Alla Hasanova became new NOC members.
