“Baku’s hosting of the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on the theme “Role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening multilateral cooperation in Asia” is of utmost importance amid growing global challenges in the modern era. Parliamentary diplomacy is not only an element of foreign policy, but also one of the main pillars reinforcing friendship and cooperation between nations and civilizations,” said Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, as he addressed 15th plenary session of APA, AzVision.az reports.
The Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman hailed the excellent organization of the 15th plenary session in Baku.
According to him, the cooperation between Asian countries sets an example for other continents. “Therefore, it is particularly important to enhance parliamentary diplomacy. The Sultanate of Oman has already submitted its documents for permanent membership in the APA and is confident that its membership will forge new avenues for multilateral cooperation,” he emphasized.
