3 dead, over 240 rescued as refugee boat capsizes near Greece`s Lesbos
At least three people died and more than 240 were rescued as a boat carrying refugees capsized off the coast of the Greek island of Lesbos, media reported.
According to the ITV channel’s Wednesday report, it is not known how many people the wooden boat was carrying.

A major migrant crisis is currently occurring in Europe, with hundreds of thousands of people fleeing their war-torn home countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Nearly 500,000 migrants have arrived in Greece so far this year, with more than half coming to Lesbos, according to EU border agency Frontex.

According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the number of refugees who have crossed the Mediterranean Sea in 2015 to arrive in Greece was 15 times higher than last year.
