Most of miners killed as result of carbon monoxide poisoning in Turkey
Most of the miners killed as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning in Turkey, Turkish TRT Haber channel reported on May 14.
Currently, the rescuers are injecting oxygen into the shaft. Miners can breathe for 50 minutes, according to the TV channel.
The death toll increased to 201 people, more than 500 people remain under the rubble, according to the recent data, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources said.

The minister stressed that there were 787 people during the mining accident. Currently, only 363 miners were rescued. Earlier it was reported that some 166 people were killed as a result of this explosion.

It is difficult to determine the exact number of dead people as the explosion occurred during a shift change. The accident occurred at the mine in the Soma settlement (Manisa province), located 250 kilometers south of Istanbul. The mine is located at a depth of about two kilometers.

Short circuit caused the fire and explosion that led to the mine collapse, according to preliminary data.

Some 1,235 people were killed as a result of the work accidents, 103 of them - female in the country for four months of 2014, according to the Turkish Statistics Institute.
