Moscow to supply Armenia with the same weapons Azerbaijan purchased
Moscow supplied to Armenia roughly the same set of arms which Azerbaijan purchased earlier, Editor-in-Chief of Eksport Vooruzheniy (Arms Export) magazine Andrey Frolov told Izvestiya.
“The difference in the military budget of Armenia and Azerbaijan is too big. It is difficult to speak about power balance here. Only through pinpoint investments it is possible to prevent the breakdown from reaching critical scales,” he noted.

Supplies of Smerch multiple rocket launchers are first and foremost of great significance. “In the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, this is a substrategic weapon, considering the firing range, since Smerch can be effective against columns of armored vehicles, depot complexes and storage depots.”

In the framework of the agreements signed in 2010-2011, Russia supplied to Azerbaijan Smerch multiple rocket launchers, TOS-1A Solntsepyok multiple rocket launcher, T-90 tanks, strike helicopters and other weapons for an overall amount of about $4 bln.
