Memorial plaque honoring Muslim Magomayev erected in Moscow - PHOTOS
Memorial plaque honoring People's Artist of the USSR, singer Muslim Magomayev was erected in the center of Moscow, on September 14 in Leontiev Lane, house №14/11 - a place where Muslim Magomayev lived and worked since 1982, AzVision.az reports.
"On the year of Muslim Magomayev's 75th birthday, we honor great singer's memory by erecting a memorial plaque in honor of People's Artist of the USSR Muslim Magomayev," Muslim Magomayev Cultural and Musical Heritage Fund said in a statement.



"It's impossible to overestimate his contribution to formation of musical taste in our country. Extraordinary wide range of his vocal abilities, as well as his unique voice made Muslim Magomayev an idol for many generations. He went down in history not only as cult representative of the best baritones of the world, but also as a composer , a pianist, an actor and a man devoted to art," statement says.



"To the delight of all friends and true admirers, it was possible to realize long time dream of admirers of his talent - to highlight the house whete Muslim Magomedovich lived and worked since 1982. His contribution to the development of our art is colossal: he will remain an idol forever," Muslim Magomayev Cultural and Musical Heritage Fund said.

Tamara Sinyavskaya, Muslim Magomayev's wife, a close friend of the artist and founder of the Fund, businessman Aras Agalarov, singer and businessman Emin Agalarov, Leonid Roshal, as well as numerous admires and fans of the musician attended the opening ceremony of memorial plaque, which was held on Thursday, September 14.



A monument to Muslim Magomayev was revealed on September 22, 2011. It is located in the center of Moscow, near the embassy of Azerbaijan. Its opening ceremony was attended by more than two thousand people.
