Currently, work is underway to eliminate the results of the failure of the power line, the company said, adding that the power supply to some Turkish cities has already been partially restored.
The electricity supply to Turkey’s major cities, such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, was stopped at 10:36 (UTC/GMT +3 hours) on March 31.
The subways in these cities also stopped working as a result of the power outage. The traffic lights also stopped working, which caused traffic jams.
Commenting on the situation, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that a terrorist act could be considered as one of the versions of the power outage in about 30 cities of Turkey.
