Pegida to Hold Anti-Islamization Rally in London
UK branch of Anti-islamization group Pegida (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West) will hold first rally in London to protest against radical Islam and mass immigration.
German Anti-islamization group Pegida (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West) will hold a rally in London Saturday to protest against radical Islam and mass immigration, UK branch of the group said in a statement on Facebook page.

“Now is your chance to stand proud in our capital in support of Pegida UK and raise awareness of the detrimental affect radical Islam and slack border controls/mass immigration are having on our country,” the statement said.

The march will start at 5 p.m. local time (17:00 GMT) at Richmond Terrace. The rally’s program includes laying a wreath on the Cenotaph in memory of all those that have died at the hands of extremists, candlelit vigil, and speeches. Zahid Khan, German Islam critic, is expected to attend the rally.

Saturday’s rally is the first to be held by Pegida in London and the second in Great Britain. In February, about 400 Pegida supporters gathered in the UK town of Newcastle.

Pegida is a Dresden-based political movement that has been organizing actions against the perceived islamization of Europe since October 2014, when the group gathered for the first time in the center of Dresden to protest against radical Islam and the influx of migrants to Germany.

Every Pegida meeting is accompanied by the meeting of its opponents, who support multiculturalism and welcome migration.
