Elections in Armenia continue at low turnout - UPDATED

As of 17:00, 1,025,002 people or 39.54 percent of the total number of voters (2,582,481) took part in the voting in the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia, Armen Smbatyan, Secretary of the Central Election Committee said at the briefing, Trend reports citing Sputnik Armenia.


In Yerevan, out of 849,913 voters, 323,323 citizens or 38.4 percent of the total number of voters cast ballots.

2010 polling stations across 13 electoral districts throughout the country have opened as of 08:00, December 9, local media reports.

The vote will be concluded at 20:00, and the ballot count will begin.

Nine political parties and two alliances are running for parliament. According to official data, 2,573,779 people are entitled to vote.
