President Aliyev: Agreement on construction of railroad, highway from Azerbaijan via Armenia to Nakhchivan reached

President Aliyev: Agreement on construction of railroad, highway from Azerbaijan via Armenia to Nakhchivan reached

The agreement on the construction of a railroad and a highway from Azerbaijan via Armenia to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been reached, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev said during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, AzVision.az reports.

“At this stage, we have achieved an agreement on building the railroad connection from Azerbaijan, through Armenia to Nakhchivan and also an agreement on the construction of a highway, but the exact route of the highway has not yet been identified,” President Aliyev said.

The head of state noted that it is a matter of future discussions.
