  Azerbaijan Olympic House hosts meeting with country’s Paris 2024 Olympics medalists

The Azerbaijan Olympic House, operating as part of the country’s participation in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, hosted a meeting with the Azerbaijani athletes, who have won Olympic medals.

Farid Gayibov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mariana Vasileva, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Azer Aliyev, Secretary General of Azerbaijan’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), Chingiz Huseynzade, NOC Vice President, Sahil Babayev, President of Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, a number of the Olympic and World champions, foreign officials, representatives of international organizations and others attended the event.

The participants cheered boxer Alfonso Dominguez, freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili and the rhythmic gymnastics team in group exercises, who bagged silver and bronze medals for Azerbaijan respectively.

Addressing the event, President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Sahil Babayev emphasized that the Azerbaijani athletes achieved great success at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

On behalf of the participants, Sahil Babayev expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, who created all conditions and opportunities for sports and athletes, as well as to the people of Azerbaijan who supported them.

The event participants were presented with the editions, highlighting the Azerbaijani culture, the country’s Olympic history, as well as its athletes taking part in the Olympic Games.
