Street event cancelled due to continuous hazy conditions in Singapore
The upcoming Pedestrian Night at Orchard Road, street event at Singapore`s retail and entertainment hub, will be cancelled because of the continuous hazy conditions, the Strait Times reported on Thursday.
According to data from National Environment Agency (NEA), the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) has stayed in the unhealthy range of 101 to 200 over the last few days. NEA also expected that air quality could deteriorate further through Friday.

A spokesman for the event said that Pedestrian Night at Orchard Road on Saturday will be cancelled "out of consideration for the health and safety of our staff, our visitors and all street performers" in a statement released on Thursday.

The spokesman also advised visitors to Orchard Road to stay indoors as much as possible and take necessary precautions.

Air quality in Singapore deteriorated last week, and hazy conditions forced primary and secondary schools closed on Sept. 25. Many outdoor events have been affected because of haze.
