SOCAR has closed down its Geneva Office, Azerbaijani ambassador to Switzerland Akram Zeynalli said in his interview to Swiss Nasha Gazeta newspaper.
“After decline of oil price three times in the world market, SOCAR revised optimization of costs and restructuring of several structural divisions. So, it was necessary to revise the policy of SOCAR representation in various countries. SOCAR had been represented by three different structures in Switzerland – official representation, SOCAR Trading and SOCAR Energy Switzerland. It was decided to close the SOCAR office in Geneva”, the diplomat said. 1
