Azerbaijani side is concerned over amendments made by Greek government to the tender procedure of DESFA privatization, Azerbaijani ambassador in Greece Rahman Mustafayev said.
The ambassador noted Greek government’s intention to get excess profit may have affect bilateral business relations.
The diplomat said that the amendments made by Greek Energy Minister Panos Skurletis have not been agreed with the SOCAR officials: “This is contrary to conditions and makes privatization process difficult. The minister said the amendments are for protection of consumer, but this is a myth. Administrative interference in such issues may prevent investment flow. If someone wants to change any mechanism, we don’t protest. However, this must be made within the rules. This step is taken without agreeing with SOCAR”.
