7 killed in terrorist attack on electoral commission in Libya’s Tripoli

A group of militants and a suicide bomber stormed the Libyan electoral commission offices in Tripoli on Wednesday. At least seven people were killed in the attack, according to the commission’s spokesman Khaled Amar, who was in one of the buildings but managed to escape.

Amar told reporters that the attackers set the offices on fire, started a gun battle with security, and one of assailants blew himself up. The development follows a series of other attacks in late April, when unidentified terrorist groups set the Libyan Waha oil field ablaze.
