During the Karabakh conflict, Armenians have made up several 'options without any alternatives' for themselves. One of them was the idea of no alternative to Lachin Corridor in relations between Karabakh Armenians and Armenia. It is the main essence of their "struggle" for the Lachin corridor in the last two years.
If the Lachin corridor operates, Armenians will continue their games over Karabakh Armenians. Any alternative to Lachin corridor means the end of Armenians' Karabakh game. During the meeting held in Brussels on July 15, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, stated the legitimacy of the Aghdam route. With this, the Armenians lost their last chance of bluffing In fact, there may be logistics communications not only from Agdam, but also from Fuzuli, Zangilan, and Zangezur.
To understand it better, it is necessary to look at Armenian history. Armenians never had their territories. Territory is first for statehood. That's why, Armenians did not have a state. Historians wrote history about Armenians, not the Armenian state.
The 1870s can be considered the beginning of Armenians' struggle for territory in the Ottoman Empire. At that time, Armenians had everything under the Ottoman Empire. They were the only Christian community that the Ottoman Empire allowed to practice their religion. There were no obstacles to the development of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. They were allowed to hold positions. In the last 100 years of the Ottoman Empire, there were 11 Armenian ministers. The next person in the enterprise of all Ottoman entrepreneurs was an Armenian. They were even called "loyal nation". Finally, Russia deceived the Armenians by promising them land. With the "Olive revolt" or establishment of "Dashnaksutyun" in 1890, Armenians started their fight for land.
Tsarist Russia was able to create a new stage in the possession of lands by Armenians. Russia transferred Armenians from the Ottoman Empire and Iran to the historical territories of Azerbaijan.
During the USSR, the only victims of Armenia's fight for territory were not only Azerbaijani people, they also made various claims to the Georgians. The Soviet Union was interested in keeping the topic of Armenian territorial claims to Turkey on the agenda. In 1965, the USSR, which rejected national and religious ideology, allowed the construction of the "Armenian genocide" monument in Armenia. It was the result of the Armenians' struggle for land being in the interest of the USSR.
During the dissolution of the USSR, Armenians started new struggle for land with new forces. At that time, the US had a plan to destroy its rival - USSR. The plan was realized with the active involvement of Armenians. Later, Armenians occupied the territories of Azerbaijan. The invasion the Armenians started in Karabakh was called "miatsum". According to that idea, Karabakh Armenians are the same people as Armenians of Armenia, therefore Karabakh should be united with Armenia. In his interview with the French newspaper Humanite, Gorbachev's aide Aganbegyan proposed Karabakh be separated from the Azerbaijani SSR and annexed o the Armenian SSR in order to solve the economic troubles in the USSR. The Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR held incomplete discussions in this regard and made a decision based on it.
Books were translated from the Western Armenian language to the Eastern Armenian language in Armenia at the expense of the state budget. Nevertheless, when the "miatsum" was needed, they were declared to be the same people...
The idea “miatsum” failed because the then-central legislative authorities of the USSR did not allow it. The Armenians understood that it is easier to declare Karabakh as an "independent state" and then annex it to Armenia. And they started working in this direction. They even tried to prove that the Armenians in Karabakh are not an Armenian nation, but a completely separate ethnological and anthropological group. They tried to prove the existence of the people called "Armenian people of Karabakh" and "People of Artsakh".
Since the Armenians in Karabakh are relocated from Iran, their language contains 15-20 percent Persian words. Therefore, it is absurd to call them "a people different from the Armenians of Armenia". There is a 100 percent difference between the language of Diaspora Armenians and the language of Armenians in Armenia. So, why don't they consider themselves a "separate people"?!
Armenians failed to achieve serious political and scientific success in this direction. They could not hold any scientific, ethnological and anthropological conferences. The term "Armenian people of Karabakh" has no international scientific and legal basis. The Armenian nation is one (fortunately), and it has already determined its destiny. Karabakh Armenians can travel to Armenia as citizens of Azerbaijan. If they want.
