Hunting season extended until March 10 in Azerbaijan
The Scientific Council for Coordination of Hunting Affairs of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources held its extraordinary meeting on Saturday.
The ministry told APA that at the meeting, discussions were held with specialists on the significant role of the regulated hunting activity in maintaining balance in nature and reducing the number of malicious species.

The importance of extending the hunting season of a number of wild birds (ducks, coot, goose, etc.) and permitting year-round hunting of some animals (swamp beaver, raccoon, jackal, etc.) due to their malicious features, was underlined at the meeting.

Taking into account the above-mentioned, a decision was passed on extension of hunting season in the country until 10 March 2016, and permission to hunting of waterbirds during this period, as well as hunting of species such as jackals, swamp beavers and raccoons year-round.
