Some 50 Iranian embassies don`t have ambassadors
Some 50 Iran`s embassies abroad don`t have an ambassador and have people working as caretakers, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran`s parliament Mansour Haghighatpour said, Mardomsalari daily newspaper reported.
"Iran`s diplomacy needs activity and dynamism," he said, adding that, relations with some countries should be corrected.

According to the report, Haghighatpour also defended Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani`s nominee for Minister of Foreign affairs and said that "Zarif is someone whom would bring activity to Iran`s Diplomacy."

Iran`s new president Hassan Rouhani has stated in his speeches that country`s new government will follow a new foreign policy, based on moderation.

Due to tensions with some countries, Iran`s interests are presented by other embassies in those countries.

For example, Former Embassy of Iran in Washington, D.C. is defunct as Iran does not currently have an embassy in the United States. Its interests are handled through the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the United States in the Pakistani embassy.
