Freestyle wrestling competitions at Baku 2015 coming to close
Freestyle wrestling competitions at the first-ever European Games in Baku is coming to a close today.
Wrestlers will compete in 4 weight categories, according to APAsport.

With two gold medals and one bronze from the first day, Azerbaijani wrestlers will compete in all weight categories.

In the 61kg weight category, the brother of Yashar Aliyev, who took the 5th place and defeated Garik Barsekyan in the 1/4 finals, will also face Armenian athlete Valodia Franqulyan in the 1/8 finals.

Azerbaijani champion in the 70kg weight category Ruslan Dibirhajiyev will join the Games in the 1/8 finals. The 27-year-old wrestler will take on the winner of the fight between Miroslav Kirov (Bulgaria) and Magomedmurad Hajiyev (Poland).

Representing Azerbaijan in the 86kg weight category, Nurmaqomed Hajiyev will join the competition in the 1/8 finals. The 19-year-old wrestler will meet with Georgi Sredkov (Bulgaria) in his first encounter.

In the 125kg weight category, Jamaladdin Maqomedov will encounter Yonas Rudavichius (Lithuania) in his first fight.

Note that, on the first day of the freestyle wrestling competitions, Azerbaijani athletes Togrul Asgarov and (66kg) and Khetaq Gazyumov (97kg) won the gold medal, and Jabrayil Hasanov (74kg) won the bronze medal.
