The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office has disclosed the flight recorder parameters of the military helicopter of the State Border Service during the crash on November 30 in Khizi district.

“Proceeding from the parameters, the vertical speed of the helicopter was higher than the level envisaged in the flight instructions,” the Prosecutor General's Office said.

“As a result, the pilots lost control of the helicopter and the helicopter crashed," it added.

On November 30, at about 10:40 (GMT+4), an SBS military helicopter crashed during a training flight at the Garaheybat airfield in the Khizi district, killing 14 servicemen and leaving two others aboard injured.

On the fact of the helicopter crash, the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case under Article 352.2 (negligent violation of the rules of flight and preparation for flight, leading to the death of two or more persons) and other articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
