The statement came after the death of an Azerbaijani soldier as a result of the provocation committed on Jan. 11 by the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Azerbaijan’s Kalbajar district, along the state border of the two countries.
“Instead of taking steps to normalize relations, Armenia’s military-political leadership is directly responsible for the aggravation of the situation in the region by committing another bloody provocation on the border with Azerbaijan,” the ministry said.
