He made the remarks at a webinar, entitled “30 Years of US-Caspian Diplomatic Relations”, organized by the Caspian Policy Center.
Hajiyev said Azerbaijan has been providing military and logistical support in the fight launched by the US following the September 11 terrorist attacks.
“Over the last three decades, Azerbaijan has proven to be a good friend. In turn, US support for Azerbaijan strengthens our country's sovereignty and independence. It has been confirmed that this support is an important component of regional security,” he added.
The presidential aide also underlined Azerbaijan’s support for US missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
