Khojaly genocide anniversary action plan approved
At an order of the head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic, the Action Plan for the twenty-second anniversary of the Khojaly genocide has been approved.

The action plan envisages laying wreaths at the monument erected in memory of the victims of Khojaly genocide in Khatai district of Baku , in Goranboy and Agjakand village, visiting the Alley of Martyrs by members of the public, holding press conferences, commemorative ceremonies in connection with the genocide at embassies, representations and diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan Republic in foreign countries, organizing other activities, dissemination and regular updating of information about the genocide in foreign and local media, on television and radio and the Internet.

According to the document, agencies and organizations, theatre and concert facilities, exhibition halls, secondary and higher education institutions will hold the evening of memory, exhibitions of photos and drawings, meeting with witnesses of the events and will showcase documentaries and feature films about the struggle for national liberation.

Government agencies, members of the Milli Majlis and intellectuals will assist families of the martyrs living in urban areas (Baku, Sumgait, Ganja, Mingachevir, Shaki, Goranboy, Barda, Sabirabad Goychay, Lankaran, Oguz, Balakan).

On 25 February, the first lesson at schools will be devoted to this tragedy, on 26 February at 17 pm, a minute`s silence will be held throughout the country to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
