US swimmer Michael Phelps sets new Olympics record by winning 23rd Olympic Gold
The US team finished first with a time of 3 minutes and 27.95 seconds, which is the new Olympic record. Silver was won the United Kingdom, while the third place was taken by the Australian team, Sputnik İnternational reported.

On Tuesday, Phelps completed the men’s 200m individual medley in 1 minute 54.66, thus reaching his 22nd gold at Olympics.

Earlier, he won gold in men’s 200m butterfly, men’s 4x100m freestyle relay and men’s 4x200m freestyle relay.

Phelps is also the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 27 medals.

The 2016 Summer Olympic Games are being held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21.
