Azerbaijan’s Mammadyarov beats Russian Grischuk at FIDE World Chess Candidates Tournament

Azerbaijani grand master Shahriyar Mammadyarov has defeated Russian Alexander Grischuk in the 13th round of the 2018 FIDE World Chess Candidates Tournament in Berlin increasing his points to 7.5.

Mammadyarov shares 2 and 3 places with Russian Sergey Karjakin, behind Fabiano Caruana of the US who has 8 points.

The Azerbaijani GM will face Russian Vladimir Kramnik in the final round of the tournament.
