"Azerbaijani House in Israel" international association calls on int’l community to assess Armenian violence

The fact of torture of Azerbaijani servicemen captured by Armenia has caused a protest of Azerbaijani diaspora members living in Israel, AzVision.az reports.

The statement addressed to the international organizations on the behalf of the "Azerbaijan House in Israel" clarified under what weather conditions the soldiers of the Azerbaijani Army - Babirov Agshin, and Akhundov Huseyn were captured in Armenia. Attention was drawn to the fact that Azerbaijani servicemen were inhumanly treated. This incident was assessed as a gross violation of international humanitarian laws by Armenia.

The statement highlights investigation and properly evaluation of the above-said violence, including the violence committed by Armenia against Azerbaijani prisoners of war and civilian prisoners, and 3,890 missing Azerbaijanis over the past 30 years.

As underlined in the statement, Armenia has breached its obligations under the Geneva Convention, Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

"Azerbaijan House in Israel" strongly condemned any use of torture and ill-treatment towards Azerbaijani servicemen and called on international organizations to give a legal assessment of the violence and to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of Azerbaijani servicemen.
