Azerbaijan-UK co-op to continue growing regardless of election outcome
The bilateral relationship between UK and Azerbaijan will continue to grow regardless of the outcome of the parliamentary election in the UK, the embassy of the UK in Baku told on May 12.

The UK held parliamentary election on May 7, 2015. The Conservative Party won the majority of seats in the House of Commons as a result of this election.

David Cameron, the UK prime minister and leader of the Conservative Party retained his seat in the country’s parliament from the Witney county constituency in Oxfordshire.

“Regardless of the outcome of the UK election, the UK remains a strong partner of Azerbaijan and our bilateral relationship will continue to grow and flourish,” said the UK embassy.

The foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and UK dropped by 12.7 percent in a year and stood at $30.75 million, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee. This is while $30.3 million worth products were imported to Azerbaijan from UK and $504.11 million worth products were exported from Azerbaijan to this country.
