Canadian company excludes Nagorno-Karabakh region from list of call delivery points
Canadian telecommunications company Impact Telecom (Startec) has excluded Nagorno-Karabakh region from the list of call delivery points, the Canadian company Impact Telecom (Startec) said in response to the reaction of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Canada, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev told.

Earlier, the call delivery point called "Nagorno-Karabakh" was available on the company’s website.

According to Hajiyev, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Canada expressed dissatisfaction with the Azerbaijani side in connection with such activities of the company, bringing to attention the fact of occupation of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region and surrounding districts by Armenia. Moreover, the Embassy raised before the company the issue of exclusion the call delivery point “Nagorno-Karabakh” from its website.

In its response, Impact Telecom (Startec) Company expressed regret for the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan being listed as a call delivery point, reported on the suspension of calls to this area.

It is noted that the company has obtained the catalogue of accessible areas based on a common list and uploaded it to the system.

Impact Telecom (Startec) Company also said that it avoids taking a biased position against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan or its people and the Azerbaijani diaspora in Canada or anyone making a phone call to Azerbaijan.
