Tariff Council: Sharp change expected in drug prices
"As a result of drug sales at fixed prices, state control on this area will be tightened"
“Sharp change is expected in drug prices. Some drugs are too expensive. People will see those drugs go down in price,” Tariff Council Secretary Ilkin Majidov has said.

As a result of drug sales at fixed prices, according to Majidov, state control on this area will be tightened. “All pharmacies will offer drugs at the same prices. It will also have contributed to the development of insurance system. 10 reference countries have already been confirmed. The Cabinet of Ministers, as you know, approved a relevant rule on entrepreneurial activity on May 22. The rule defines certain margins for both wholesalers and pharmacy companies. These margins are quite normal compared to international experience. With these margins, pharmacies will be able to sustain their activity normally, and there will be no rivalry among pharmacies in terms of price. All rivalry will be based on quality,” said Majidov.
