Baku 2015 official: We don
22,000 spectators attended the athletics competitions at the Olympic Stadium on June 21, Simon Clegg, the Baku 2015 chief operating officer said.
S. Clegg said cycling road races were held in the last two days in Baku.

“Many beautiful pictures of Baku have been spread all over the world. We had over 48,000 spectators at ten venues yesterday. Extra tickets were available for competitions on some kinds of sports. The athletes are gradually leaving Baku. 304 athletes will return to their countries today,” the Baku 2015 official added.

According to S. Clegg, over 1,100 medals have so far been won in the competitions.

“About 40,000 spectators are expected at today’s competitions. The strong north wind that blows in Baku won’t create problems for the Organizing Committee. We don’t intend to repeat the Olympic Games. The European Games are an innovative approach, which include Olympic and non-Olympic sports,” he noted.
