Armenia’s plant polluting Okhchuchay River banned from exporting products

The Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) CJSC, which is the main source of pollution of the Okhchuchay River running through the territory of Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district, has been banned from exporting 140,000 kg of ferromolybdenum.

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia indefinitely prevented the company from exporting copper concentrate and ferromolybdenum without any grounds.

The company’s management is also aware of the cause of the ban on exports.

It is obvious that the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine inflicts a great blow to the nature of the region, polluting transboundary rivers. Along with Azerbaijan, neighboring countries such as Iran and Turkey also suffers from this environmental disaster.
