 ANAMA signs MoU with Britain

The Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the British non-governmental organization MAG (Mines Advisory Group) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, AzVision.az reports.

According to the joint training plan developed by the document, MAG NGO will conduct special training to train new ANAMA field supervisors. Also, it is planned to provide consulting services for demining activities.

ANAMA, which is always open to innovation, is again interested in improving national capacity based on international experience. The knowledge gained in this area will make a positive contribution to the implementation of humanitarian demining activities.

Also, according to the memorandum, it is expected to provide support in conducting theoretical and practical trainings for the main supervisory staff of the Agency, the monitoring and evaluation process.

“Cooperation between the ANAMA and MAG will also support the delivery of information to the international communities on the scale of the mine problem in Azerbaijan,” said the agency.

MAG NGO operates in 29 countries in the areas of humanitarian de-mining, creating a safe environment and links with communities affected by conflicts.
