They noted that cultural and religious bonds between Azerbaijan and Iran are instrumental in developing Iran-Azerbaijan relations.

The sides also underlined the significance of regular contacts between relevant institutions and officials of the two countries to maintain bilateral relations.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted that Azerbaijan's full commitment to cooperation based on good neighborliness, equal rights, mutual respect and interests are rooted the strong political will of both sides. He also stressed the importance of efforts to continue and further develop this cooperation.

FM Bayramov underscored that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change created additional opportunities for Azerbaijan-Iran cooperation.

Providing insight into the ongoing normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, the Azerbaijani FM added that the most serious obstacle to signing the final peace treaty is the ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan enshrined in legal and political documents of this country, especially the constitution.

Armenia’s revanchist tendencies and rapid militarization, including the increase of military support for the country by various states undermine efforts to establish security and stability in the region.

The discussions also centered on the other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
